Idyllic Weather for Spring Classic in Ards
Darnell Moore (Caldwell Cycles) won the Tour of Ards today in Newtownards. He was best of a four man group at the end of the 140 kilometre race around the Ards Peninsula. Connor McCann (Inspired Cycling) was second with Lindsay Watson (Powerhouse Sport) third and Craig Rae (Viner-Caremark-Pactimo) fourth.
Angus Fyffe (Caldwell Cycles) led home a fifteen-man group at 2 minutes 10 seconds for fifth place with the main bunch another five minutes down.
The established spring classic was sponsored by Armstrong Auctions and promoted by the Ards Cycling Club. Moore, from Omagh, takes home the Tommy Brown Memorial Trophy and he is the current National Cyclo Cross and Hill Climb Champion.
