Shimna Wheelers hosted Round 7 of the Ulster CycloCross series in Donard Park, Newcastle today.

It was another dry and bright day for the three hundred competitors in the packed programme of events. Thomas Creighton (McConvey Cycles) won the ‘A’ race by five seconds from Nial Davis (Biking.ie) with Graham Boyd (McConvey Cycles) in third and Bangor man Lewis Ferguson (Bikehouse CC) fourth.

Klaudia Bajolek (ScottEuroCycles.com) was the first home in the womens race just 2 seconds ahead of Kanturk junior Lucy )’Donnell (O’Leary Stone Kanturk). League leader Joanna Bula (Scott Eurocycles.com) was third with Rachel Irvine (The Bike House CC) holding her form in fourth. Martin Harney (Phoenix CC) was almost one minute ahead of the runner up Andy Layhe (Trial Demons CC) in the ‘B’ race with Newry Wheelers Mark Gordon third.
