David Catherwood Memorial Sportive

The cycle 4 Christ Cycling club held the inaugural David Catherwood memorial sportive today in Newtownards. Three hundred cyclists did a 61 mile loop of the ards peninsula, a mile for every year of Davids life. David was killed last June while cycling on the Belfast to Bangor road. The CLIC Sargeant Cancer charity benifited from the event which was also supported by Decathlon sports store, Holywood Exchange. Davids wife Janet and his family were heavily involved in the event and some also took part in the challenging cycle. The Cycle 4 Christ club deserve congratulations for their excellent promotion which was a fitting tribute to their esteemed friend David Catherwood. George Smyth of the Cycle 4 Christ club asked Bronagh to record the day by taking photographs. The photos posted on the site are available by messaging Bronagh with the number of the photo and an email address, the original high resolution photo will be forwarded.
