Ulster Cyclocross League Round 9 Newcastle

Shimna Wheelers hosted the 9th and final round of the 2017 Ulster Cyclo Cross series in the scenic Donard Park Newcastle.
It was a cold and dry day which made for some fast racing on the firm course. David Montgomery (Ulster, unattached) took the top spot in the 'A' race ahead of Graham Boyd (McConvey Cycles) and Barry Kellet (Dromara CC) third.
Beth McCluskey made the journey north to win the ladies race chased home by Trudy Brown (VC Glendale). There was a great battle for third with Julie Rea (Phoenix CC) getting the better of improving Rachel Irvine (Bikehouse CC).
The Velo Club Mourne took the top two places in the 'B' event with Adam Cunningham and Jonathan Graham.
