Season Ends At Stormont

The Kinning Cycles brought the CycloCross season to a close today with the final round of their series in the grounds of Stormont Estate. Glen Kinning and his club and other helpers staged another excellent event.
The current National champion Roger Aiken (unattached) won the ‘A’ race from the hard working Glenn Kinning (Kinning Cycles) who organised the event (his fifth promotion of the season). Dromara CC man Barry Kellet raced well to finish 3rd. Breda Horan (Scott Orwell Wheelers) won the women’s race from Trudy Brown (VC Glendale) in second and Gill Smith (Phoenix CC).
David Bloome (Dromara CC) was best of 70 riders in the ‘B’ race with Pearse O’Hagan (Inspired Cycling) and Richard McCullough (North Down CC) 3rd.
Lee Harvey (Kinning Cycles) won the Under 16 male race while Meabh Flannagan (Ballymoney CC) won the females U16 raced. Dean Harvey (Kinning Cycles) was first under 14 boy and Katie Neill (Carn Wheelers) best under 14 girls.
The overall league winners were, Roger Aiken, Trudy Brown (Females) and David Broome ‘B’ category. Full results http://ulstercyclocross.com
