A Home Win For Mark McKinley

It was a home win for Mark McKinley (Newry Wheelers) tonight in Stage 1 of the Newry 3 Day.

The 28 year old won a bunch gallop from 65 riders in the centre of Warrenpoint.

Stamullen-M Donnelly Veteran Craig Sweetman was second with junior star Jake Gray (Nicholas Roche Performance Team) third. Gavin Magowan (Dromara CC), Lindsay Watson (TVR) and Davy McKnight (TVR) completed the top six.

Watson leads the point’s competition as he won 2 primes during the 35 miles stage while Gray leads the King of the Hills and the young rider competition.

The 87 riders face a hilly 64 mile stage in and around Hilltown in the morning followed by a 4 mile TT at Narrow water in the afternoon.
