Stage 2 TT Tour of the North
The Stage 2 time trial was shortened by 2 miles because of a blocked lane on the A26. Chris McGlinchey (Ballymena Road Club) won the stage in a time of 4 mins 57:06. Secs. Neill Delahaye (Team Asea) was second at 2.53secs. with Sean McIntrye (Caldwell Cycles) third at 3.65 secs. The Stage one winner Gareth McKee (Banbridge CC) was 8th at 12 seconds and this dropped him to 2nd overall while young McGlinchey took the leaders jersey.
The fourth,fifth and sixth finishers in the time trial were Rob Friel (Pro Vision), Dave Watson (North Down), and Ronan McLauglin (Team Asea). This result placed these three riders in that position in the overall classification also.
