Stage 3 Tour Of the North
This group was 12 seconds down on the stage winner but more importantly the gap back to the main bunch which included the yellow jersey was 33 seconds.
The top of the general classification is very close going into the final 113 kilometre stage around the hilly roads of Londonderry. Dave Watson leads by a fraction of a second from Ronan McLaughlin with the stage winner Jack Waller in third place at 25 seconds. Waller’s efforts raised him 25 places in the overall while Karl Morgans career best result shot him up from 25th to 4th overall. North Down CCs David Hamilton now sits in fifth place at 6 seconds with Mark Downey in sixth and also the leading young rider. McLaughlin still leads the King of the Hills with Angus Fyffe (The Belgian Project) second and Jack Waller third.
Spirit Bikes are leading the team competition.
