Hugo Loughran Memorial
Island Wheelers held their annual Hugo Loughran Memorial race on Friday night at Annaghmore.
The A3 riders raced for 6 laps of a 7 mile course and despite some early breakaway moves it ended in a bnch sprint. Lurgan junior Declan Mullholland took the win ahead of improving North Down man Barry Hamilton and ary Donaldson(Omagh).
The A4s did five laps and Greg Lennon (Phoenix) was the winner. A good evenings racing for the A3s and A4s who otherwise would have had no competition this weekend as the Tour of Ulster is only for A1 and 2 riders.
Vegetable broth and bread rolls with tea coffee and biscuits and buns was served at the finish. Considering there were no catering facilites at this sign on location, great credit must go to Island Wheelers for the efforts they go to ensuring riders and supporters receive the best hospitality.
