Phoenix GP

The Phoenix Grand Prix sponsored by Hewitt and Gilpin Solicitors was held today at the wind swept Nutts Corner Circuit near Crumlin.

The main race for A1 and 2 was an agressive affair with Conor Murphy giving his new Caldwell Cycles team a morale boosting win. Mark Buchanan (North Pole CC) was second with Murphy's team mate Paul Mulligan third.
Mark McClure (Four Masters Donegal) took fourth and North Downs Paul Ferguson sprinted to fifth ahead of Ronan McLoughlin (Dig Deep Coaching).

The racing began with the over 50s in the morning. Noel Boyce (North Down) won on his own after 3 laps (25 miles). Amy Brice (DID Dunboyne) won the ladies event held over the same distance.

In the afternoon full fields raced in the A3 and A4 categories with attacking racing and high winds splitting the bunches.
