It was a record breaking day at the Ulster 100 mile Time Trial Championships today. The Ballymoney Cycling club promoted the race on the Woodgreen course, Ballymena. Despite the strong winds Bryan McCrystal (Cuchullain CC) Dundalk, did an amazing time of 3 hours 35mins for the gruelling course. The runner up was John Madden (Curran Racing) with a 3:42:49 and as McCrystal is a Leinster man Johh took the Ulster Gold medal for the seniors and veterans. Madden was the holder of the Irish 100 record (set in last years Ulster title race) with a 3:45:00, but now is the veterans record holder. Bryan McKinney (Ballymoney CC) was third with3:44:30.
Twenty six started the time trial including Donegal veteran Willie John McLaughlin (71 years old) who beat 5 hours.
