Brave Cyclists At Ras Loughguile
We made the trip to Loughguile today despite the terrible weather conditions. We thought about it quite a lot but as Jimmy was comming and bringing his cookies and cyclists were actually going to ride we thought 'Sure its better than sitting in the house"!
My pictures are by no means good but I want to show how brave the cyclists of Ulster are to compete in such conditions not to mention all the volunteers from the promoting Duffin Transport Club.
The A4s completed 2 laps of a 10 mile circuit and the A3s 3 laps and then both categories finished on a final lap of 26 mile hilly circuit. We waited for A4 riders on the hill but decided to go to the finish before the A3s came.
I started having problems with my camera, first the battery was run down after only about 100 pics. A change of battery and it was still flashing, nothing on the screens, my camera is not waterproof. I managed a couple of finishing shots of the A4 race and it died. Waiting to see if my camera will recover, I hope the riders have!
Great to see the Phoenix riders with the big smiles.
