Bann Valley Classic
The Bann Valley Road Club held their Annual Classic Road Race today in Clady, Co Derry.The race was sponsored by Magherfelt based Sizzlers Restaurant and full fields started the A4 and main A2 & 3 race.
The A2 & 3 race was animated by a race long breakaway which never looked like being caught. Philip Bremner (Lakeland CC) was the winner after six laps of the testing 8.4 mile circuit.Cathal Doyle (Carn Wheelers) was second with new Phoenix CC rider Aaron McGrady third.
The A4 race was won by Newry Wheeler Barry Convery. Michael Clarke (Bann Valley) who is a sponsor of the promoting club, finished well in fifth place.
There was the usual good crack and plenty of food in the churh hall after the racing, this has been the tradition for the last twenty years. Well done Bann Valley.
