Hundreds of mad keen cyclists invaded Crumlin today for the annual Phoenix Cycling Clubs Grand Prix sponsored this year by Hewitt and Gilpin Solicitors.
The weather was bright and dry but still very cold. The A race was won by Gary Jeffers (East Tyrone). North Down CC fielded a big team in the ladies event and their new star Janine McNally was the victor.
The Stewart family were well represented today and best result for the clan was our man Stan (Phoenix CC) who surprised us all with a great second place in the masters over 50s race! His son Daniel (East Antrim) featured well in the A3 event along with Stans brother Peter while other brother big 'Brian' finished in the A1, A2 event. What a squad!
Thanks Phoenix CC for a great days cycle sport and good food after.
