Hero's Welcome For Martyn

Ireland’s new World Track Champion Martyn Irvine received a hero’s welcome home last night at Dublin Airport. Friend’s family and Cycling Ireland Official representatives were all there to welcome ‘The Star of the Co. Down’!
All national media were also there to get their own wee bit of ‘Martyn time’. As usual Martyn makes time for everyone. Most important of the welcome home was being reunited with his fiancee Grace McNally and his parents Marie and Mervyn brother Mark and sister Melissa.

This is a great time for Irish Cycling and hopefully it will encourage many others to put their feet on the pedals.

I am sure you will all be pleased to see Martyn home safe and sound and agree the Irish flag looks particularly good on Mr Watson. It matches his hair well and Gabriel Howard takes great pride in wrapping it round him. I wonder why?

Gary McIlroys photos were kindly passed on to me by Mr Watson.

All photos taken by me that appear on this site or social media will contain a watermark for child-protection reasons. The watermark makes it more difficult to download and maliciously doctor the photos, and enables the original photograph to be more easily traced.
